There was a promise. Do the work, serve the public, and the country keeps faith with you. Careers were built on it. Mortgages. Families. Whole lives spent showing up. We served with pride and devotion.

Then came the notices.

The country turns 250 this year — a nation built on promises kept. We're the reminder of one that wasn't.

Stars and stripes woven into the letters, an arrow cutting up through them: FED UP. Federal Employees Displaced, Unfulfilled Promises. The flag we served is still stitched into who we are — even after the promise wasn't kept.

Heavyweight garment-dyed cotton, broken-in soft, relaxed for the long haul. Wear it to the rally, the town hall, the hearing. Wear it anywhere the people who broke the promise might have to look at it.

Promises get remembered. So do the ones who broke them.
