Our Giving
Nobody joins federal service to get rich. That's the fine print everyone reads going in — and signs anyway.
Why We Exist
Fine Print Republic is a niche apparel brand designed by former feds, for anyone who has served: military, civil servants, engineers, lawyers, postal workers, scientists, researchers. We exist because we are discerning, skeptical, hardworking, and fiercely loyal to our nation, its values, and our Constitution.
We read the fine print because it matters. It's there to inform — and to inspire reflection.
Our Story
Many of us grew up around an old family truism: a government job, whatever its flaws, was safe and secure. Some of us walked away from more lucrative careers in the private sector after 9/11 because we felt called to serve. We loved the work and the difference it made in people's lives — in disaster zones, in courtrooms, in labs, at border crossings, in post offices and embassies around the world.
Then tens of thousands of us had our careers and livelihoods ripped away — without cause. When that happens, the sense of mission, clarity, and purpose that carried you for decades can be hard to rebuild amid the chaos.
Fine Print Republic was born of those same values that brought us into service: providing for our families while serving others with integrity, sincerity, and an enduring pride in country. Our mission has changed — our passion for it has not.
Different uniform. Same oath, still kept.
The People We Honor, By the Numbers
If you've never worked alongside federal employees, here's who they actually are:
2.3 million. The approximate size of the executive-branch civilian workforce before the recent cuts (OPM FedScope, September 2024) — nurses, program analysts, IT specialists, law enforcement officers, scientists, and engineers serving in every state and territory, not just Washington.
Nearly 28%. The share of federal employees who are military veterans as of January 2026 (Partnership for Public Service) — compared with roughly 5% of the overall American workforce. For many, civilian federal service was their second tour.
12 years. The average tenure of a federal employee. These are careers, not jobs — built on merit-based hiring, competitive service rules, and an oath to the Constitution, not to any person or party.
More than 386,000. Total separations from the federal workforce between January 2025 and January 2026 (Partnership for Public Service), including over 10,000 reductions in force — in a system where RIFs historically never exceeded 300 in a year.
Behind every one of those numbers is a family, a mortgage, and a person who raised their right hand and meant it.
Our Commitment
Giving back isn't a marketing campaign for us. It's the reason the company exists.
Yes — we commit 10% of our profits, every quarter, to charitable organizations that provide direct assistance to federal workers in distress, including emergency financial support for employees who have lost their livelihoods through no fault of their own.
This is a company-level commitment. It's built into how we operate, and it stands on its own — quarter after quarter, regardless of what sells.
As we grow, we'll be able to share precise numbers and links to the organizations we support, right here on this page. Transparency is kind of our thing.
The Fine Print (Of Course We Have Some)
We'd be hypocrites if we didn't put ours in plain sight. Our contributions are made by Fine Print Republic as a company from our profits. Your purchases are not tax-deductible charitable contributions, and no portion of any individual sale is represented as a donation. Questions about our giving? Email us at support@fineprintrepublic.com — a human reads every message.
Join Us
This brand belongs to a community, not just a company. If you served — in uniform, in a lab, on a mail route, at a negotiating table — we want to hear from you. Share your story, your voice, and what service meant to you at support@fineprintrepublic.com or tag us @fineprintrepublic.
Thank You
To all of you who have served so selflessly in service of something bigger than yourselves — thank you. You showed up when it was hard, stayed when it was thankless, and kept the promise even when it wasn't kept to you.
The FEDUP line is for you.
Upward.
Yours in solidarity,
The Fine Print Republic Team Former feds. Forever public servants.
